Please Lord, let me become poorer
Somehow God has invited me into some of the most sacred stories on earth – stories written by the poor. And He’s inviting me into the sacred privilege of becoming poor. Of giving up not only my finances, but my expectations and rights, my identity and my status, giving up any kind of seeming credibility and daring to seem foolish. And I keep asking God what else I can give up, how I can become poorer. Oswald Chambers says, “Never reserve anything. Pour out the best you have, and always be poor. Never be diplomatic and careful about the treasure God gives. This is poverty triumphant.'"
